Statement of Faith
Kindred Spirit is a nondenominational, Christian a cappella group serving Princeton
University and Westminster Choir College. As a group of Christians, we believe that all people are sinful and in need of God’s
forgiveness in order to be reconciled to Him. To effect this reconciliation, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to be divested
of his glory, to take on human form, and to die as a sacrifice for sins. The Bible says, God our Savior desires all men
to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man
Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony borne at the proper time (I Timothy 2:3-6). He was born
over two thousand years ago as a human child; He was man and God, sacrifice and Savior, Servant and Lord. He was the One Whom
the God of peace brought up from the dead, the great Shepherd of his sheep through the blood of the eternal Covenant (Hebrews
13:20). We, as Christians, know that a man is not justified by observing the law but by faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians
2:16), and that righteousness from God comes through faith in Him to all who believe (Romans 3:22). Only through His death
and resurrection can sins be forgiven.
Kindred Spirit is committed to the message of which the Apostle Paul wrote, I delivered
to you as of first importance that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and
that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (I Corinthians 5:3-4). As believers,
we open up our membership to those who follow Christ Jesus as Lord, accept His atoning sacrifice as their only way to salvation,
and attempt to live by the words of our God as written in the Bible, regardless of denomination.
I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
May my meditation be pleasing to Him, as I rejoice in the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul. Hallelujah! (Psalm 104:33-35).
We exist to sing His praises. He has created us and given us voices to praise His name and to make Him known. He is God; a
God who cares, who hears, and who loves. We serve our crucified and risen Lord and Savior. He lives!
